Dave Bloom
Chief Technology Officer, MarketPrizm

Dave serves as Chief Technology Officer for the MarketPrizm business line of Chi-X Global Technology (“Chi-Tech”), a provider of trading infrastructure technologies and market data solutions for exchanges and market participants. Chi-Tech was created through the acquisition of Cicada, a leading supplier of market data management and dissemination technologies, by Chi-X Global in November 2008. Dave had joined Cicada in 2007 as Vice President, New Markets and Strategic Ventures, responsible for developing new markets and business applications for the firm’s range of technologies and services.

Prior to joining Cicada, Dave co-founded and managed Occam & Kiss LLC, an IT consulting firm based in New York, which provides strategic planning, project management, system design and technical assessment services to the financial, medical cost containment and e-commerce sectors.

For the 15 years prior to Occam & Kiss, Dave managed a wide range of strategic projects in the financial services industry. As VP of Engineering for Concentra, Dave designed and managed the implementation of an operating platform unifying the firm’s 12 regional operating subsidiaries into a nationwide provider of Evaluative Services. As Director of Computing Engineering for UBS, his group pioneered many of the designs and practices that ushered in wide scale adoption of distributed computing services on the desktop and in the data center. As VP of Global Messaging for Salomon Brothers, Dave and his team developed Wall Street’s first fully distributed peer-to-peer publish/subscribe system, revolutionizing the process for authoring and distributing research in real-time.

Mr. Bloom holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art and a Masters in Computer Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
