Richard Leung
Chief Technology Officer

Richard is a senior financial markets technology executive, with over 20 years of experience serving in key development and management roles. His expertise includes development of mission-critical trading technologies and real-time market data management and dissemination solutions used by major exchanges and financial institutions globally.

As Chief Technology Officer for Chi-Tech, he is responsible for directing the company’s technological strategy and overseeing development, technical support and operations.

Chi-Tech (Chi-X Global Technology), which provides a range of trading infrastructure technologies and services, was created through the acquisition of Cicada by Chi-X Global in November 2008. Upon joining Cicada in 1999, Richard established a technology center in Hong Kong, responsible for software product development and related support activities for the company’s solutions. The group has grown to over 80 technologists including staff in Shenzhen, China.

Prior to joining Cicada, Richard held a 14-year career with Dow Jones Telerate in the Asia Pacific region where he worked in various senior technical positions. Richard was head of technical development and focused on developing product solutions to meet regional requirements. These solutions included local language financial terminals; the integration of exchange data from all around the region, and the selection of other technology partners to assist in product development.

Richard also spent several years in Australia, first as a Product Development Manager for Australia and New Zealand, and subsequently took over the role of Technical Manager for the area. He was responsible for project management and implementation of the dealing systems for Dow Jones Telerate in Australia. During his time, he developed several programs to enhance the feeds from various exchanges and provide value added information on the Telerate system.

Richard has a MSc in E-Commerce from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
